Spring 2022 Collection

Spring 2022 Collection

I don’t plan collections, they sort of just happen. I feel inspired to paint a body of works when: I’ve taken a creative break from burnout, time of healing, and when change is or is about to happen.

“New Beginnings”

This collection derived from a culmination of all those things.

I started this collection a month ago while in Austin, TX. I received a really cool invitation for a month stay and thought, why not? Austin has always been a place I could see myself living in. I soaked in all the sunshine and outdoors, explored a lot, put myself in social situations I’m not used to and met a lot of really awesome people that are like-minded and goal-oriented like myself.

One day I woke up and it was a perfect, sunny with a high of 70 degrees day. I had the sliding door open and instinctively was drawn to start these paintings.

I usually say the colors I paint with reflect my mood, can you see that come through on these? Vibrant, bold, refreshing.

“Look on the Bright Side”

Spring is a time for making choices & taking inspired action.

Next month I will be packing up my studio here in Louisiana and making a move to a new city that I will call home: Austin, Texas. To say taking this leap is scary is an understatement. I’ve built my life and business here and not to mention the supportive community is the hardest to move away from. Louisiana has always been my home, but in the end, I know that growth doesn’t come from comfort zones and I can’t ignore the signs to not open myself up to new opportunities.

I wanted this collection to be a reflection of this transitional time.

“Take the Plunge”

I’ve related this collection to the current season we are in: Spring.

Spring is a time for making choices and taking inspired action. It’s a time of bold and fierce independence and “pioneering” energy, a time when we break away and go for the goal. The use of energizing and reviving colors reflects the energy during this time to establish commitments and leap forward toward what will ultimately bring us to joy and fulfillment.
